I've been wanting to try the dim sum at Grand Imperial since I got back but never had to time to do so.. till now! It's usually filled with people on the weekends especially Sundays, so my family and I headed there right after our morning jog to satisfy our tummies!

A ritual dish at every dim sum place I visit: Century egg porridge :)
The texture of the porridge wasn't too grainy or watery.. just the way I like it!

Deep-fried sesame balls filled with lotus paste
Soft, sweet and chewy in the inside while slightly crunchy on the outside. Yum! And the glutinous rice flour wasn't too thick with just the right amount of lotus paste.

Polo buns: Warm, soft, buttery buns with a sweet, crunchy topping.
O-M-G.

Pan-fried sweet, yellow kueh. I have no idea what it's made of but it's really good! The soft and chewy kueh compliments the crispy outer texture really well.

Stir-fried carrot cake (Chai tow kway). Finally! A savoury dish among many sweet dishes!

Yau char kwai wrapped in chee cheong fun. The yau char kwai was too crispy and oily. Nothing special about the chee cheong fune either. A disappointing dish.

Salted egg custard bun (Lau Sah Bao). The ratio of the salted egg and custard was just right! :) I normally prefer saltier lau sah baos and the salted egg yolk was definitely more dominant than the sweet custard in this bun! But the filling wasn't oozing out as it should and had a paste-like texture :(
