Green Tea & Red Bean and Mandarin & Chamomile, Cupcake Central

We’ve finally moved on from winter and hopefully look forward to a sunnier and warmer days ahead! But one things for sure, the new spring collection cupcakes from Cupcake Central will always be there (well, at least during spring!).

Notice how most of the cupcake pictures are taken from my iPhone? That’s because you’ll never know when you feel like eating one... ;)

Green Tea Cupcake with Red Bean filling

Red bean and green tea are meant to be together. Like peanut butter & jam, tea & biscuits, cereal & milk and bread & butter. The cupcakes looked much prettier compared to these babycakes but I went for the latter to fit another flavour in.

The green tea was subtle but definitely present! Again, the cupcakes were delightfully moist & light and the frosting was delish!

Mandarin and Chamomile

The name certainly reminds me that spring is here! Instead of the usual frosting, this cupcake was topped with a sweet, citrus-y glaze and sprinkled with a dash of chamomile tea leaves. I loved the glaze! It gave a refreshing taste to the cupcake without being overly sweet and the chamomile added a tang of sophistication.

Thankfully, it’s only the start of spring and I have few more months to enjoy these babies! ;)

Check out other yummy flavours!:

  1. When I was in Japan in 2007, I was unable to resist *anything* with the green tea + red bean combination! Oh, how I wish this cupcake existed in Canberra!
